‘Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’ Ashram at Udipalya on Kanakapura Road

The Ashram is located 21 km south of Bangalore in rural Karnataka, southern India. Bangalore is served by all domestic Indian national airlines as well as many International Airlines operate direct service to Bangalore. India also has a well-developed railway system. Many direct express trains from other cities in India serve Bangalore. We advise first time travelers to India to choose either First Class or Second Class AC rail service. Trains and timing information can be found on the official Indian Railways web site: http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ and http://www.southernrailway.org/srail/   A pre-paid government operated auto rickshaw and taxi service is located just outside both the airport and railway station. Taxi fare to the Ashram from the airport will be around Rs. 1000; from the Yeshwanthpur railway station it will be around Rs. 650, and from Majestic (city) railway station aroudn Rs. 550. Instruct the driver to take you to the ‘Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’ Ashram at Udipalya. Allow at least 2.5 hours travel time to the Ashram from the airport, 1.5 hours from Yeshwanthpur railway station and 1 hour from Majestic railway station. First time travelers are advised not to hire private taxi operators without verifying a proper license.

Please confirm bus numbers mentioned below at the bus stop. Tell the driver you want to get down at the ‘Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’ Ashram at Udipalya on Kanakapura Road. The Ashram Main Gate (Gate No. 5) is located close to the bus stop. Main Reception is about 1 km from the gate. Since there is only one direct bus (211F) to the Ashram from the Majestic Circle Bus Stand, it is always advisable to come to Banashankari Temple Bus Stand first. From Yeshwanthpur railway station there are many buses to Majestic railway station. From there one can follow the instructions below.   To reach the Ashram from Bangalore, travel via Banashankari Temple on Kanakapura Road (Old Mysore Road). Continue south towards Kanakapura for about 15 kms. After the village of Udipalya you can catch a glimpse on your right of Vishalakshi Mantap about half a kilometer before the Ashram Main Gate (Gate No. 5). Enter the Main Gate and drive down to Main Reception on your left.

How to reach Chinnaswami Stadium Bangalore

Chinnaswami stadium established in 1969 is located at the heart of Bangalore city. Situated in midst of
Queen's road, Cubbon Park, it is one of the popular cricket stadiums of the country. It was named after Mr. Chinnaswami who was the BCCI president from 1977-80 and also served KSCA for almost four decades. With a seating capacity of 55,000, this stadium has hosted ODI matches whenever India hosted World cup in 1987, 1996 and recently in 2011. It has witnessed many phenomenal moments in the history of Cricket. Plans for renovation are in the pipeline. KSAC have plans to increase the seating capacity to 70,000. It has undergone some face lifting works as the part of becoming the Home ground of IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore pioneered by head of UB group, Vijaya Mallya.

How to reach Khimsar Jodhpur Rajasthan


Khimsar is located at the edge of the Great Thar Desert in Jodhpur district, Rajasthan. Khimsar Khimsar Fort is the most popular tourist attraction of Khimsar. It was constructed by Rao Karamsiji, the 8th son of Rao Jodhaji, the founder of Jodhpur. Khimsar fort was built in the 16th century in typical Rajputana style of architecture. the fort was constructed for the purpose of wars, and later on, in the 18th century the royal family shifted into it. Zanana, a special wing exclusively for the royal women was later added. Half part of the fort is still occupied by the ancestors of the royal family while the other half has been converted into a heritage hotel.Tourists planning a holiday trip to Khimsar can also visit the place called Osian. This place is renowned for several ancient Jain and Hindu temples. If time permits, tourists can head towards the heritage hotel Sand Dunes Village to enjoy camel safaris on the golden sandy slopes of the desert. A large number of tourists come here between the months of January and February to enjoy the Nagaur Festival. This is a typical cattle fair which allows visitors to enjoy camel races, bullock races, folk music and dance forms of the region.

Khimsar is well connected by air, rail, and road. The Jodhpur Airport is the nearest airbase to the place. Regular flights are available from Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi and Udaipur to this airport. The closest railhead to Khimsar is also located in Jodhpur. Travellers can hire cabs from both the railway station and the airport to reach Khimsar. This place lies on the Jodhpur-Nagaur-Bikaner Highway. Therefore, tourists can reach Khimsar easily by buses from its neighbouring cities.

The best time to travel to Khimsar is during winters which commence in the month of November and last till Feb.
